Invoices and Receipts
Mapalyze automatically generates invoices for every payment on your account. This article explains how to access your invoices, customize their details for your accounting department, and handle common billing document requests.
Viewing your invoices
- Log in to app.mapalyze.com.
- Click Settings in the left sidebar.
- Select Billing.
- Scroll down to the Invoice History section.
You will see a list of all invoices sorted by date, showing:
- Invoice number
- Date
- Amount charged
- Payment status (Paid, Failed, Refunded)
- Plan name
Downloading an invoice
To download a PDF copy of any invoice:
- Find the invoice in the Invoice History list.
- Click the Download icon (or the PDF link) next to the invoice.
- The invoice downloads as a PDF file named with the invoice number (for example,
INV-2026-0042.pdf).
Each invoice includes:
- Mapalyze company details and address
- Your organization name and billing address
- Invoice number and date
- Line items showing the plan, billing period, and amount
- Tax details (if applicable)
- Payment method used (last four digits of the card)
- Total amount paid
Customizing invoice details
To ensure your invoices match your organization's accounting requirements:
- Go to Settings then Billing.
- Click Billing Details.
- Update the following fields:
- Organization name -- The legal name to appear on invoices.
- Billing address -- Your company's billing address.
- Tax ID / VAT number -- If your organization has a tax identification number, enter it here and it will appear on all future invoices.
- Purchase order number -- If your company requires a PO number on invoices, enter it and it will be included.
- Billing email -- By default, invoices are sent to the account owner's email. You can add a separate billing email (for example, your accounts payable department) to receive copies.
Changes to billing details apply to all future invoices. Previously generated invoices are not retroactively updated.
Automatic invoice emails
Mapalyze sends an invoice email after every successful payment. The email includes:
- A summary of the charge (plan name, amount, date)
- A link to view the invoice online
- A PDF attachment of the invoice
If you have configured a separate billing email, both the account owner and the billing email receive the invoice.
Disabling invoice emails
If you prefer not to receive invoice emails (for example, if you download invoices manually):
- Go to Settings then Billing then Notifications.
- Toggle off Send invoice emails.
You can always download invoices from the dashboard even with email notifications disabled.
Receipts for one-time charges
If you have been charged for a one-time item (such as an overage fee or a plan change proration), a separate receipt is generated. These appear in the Invoice History alongside regular subscription invoices and can be downloaded the same way.
Requesting past invoices
All invoices for the lifetime of your account are available in the Invoice History section. There is no limit on how far back you can access them. If you need an invoice from before your organization changed its billing details, the original invoice with the details at the time of payment is preserved.
Invoices for annual billing
If you are on an annual billing cycle:
- You receive one invoice per year covering the full annual amount.
- The invoice shows the annual price, any discount compared to monthly billing, and the billing period (for example, "February 2026 through January 2027").
- Mid-cycle upgrades generate a separate prorated invoice for the difference.
Tax information
Mapalyze collects applicable taxes based on your billing address and local tax regulations. The tax amount, rate, and type (such as sales tax or VAT) are itemized on each invoice.
If your organization is tax-exempt:
- Go to Settings then Billing then Billing Details.
- Click Tax Exempt.
- Upload your tax exemption certificate.
- Our billing team reviews the certificate within 2 business days.
- Once approved, future invoices are generated without tax.
Common questions
Can I get a consolidated invoice for multiple months?
Mapalyze generates one invoice per billing event. If your accounting department needs a consolidated statement, you can download all relevant invoices and compile them. We are exploring consolidated billing statements for future releases.
My invoice shows the wrong amount. What should I do?
If an invoice amount seems incorrect, check for prorated charges from plan changes or billing cycle switches. These are common reasons for unexpected amounts. If the charge is still unclear, contact our support team with the invoice number and we will investigate.
Can I pay by bank transfer or purchase order?
For organizations on the Team plan with annual billing, we offer invoiced payment via bank transfer. Contact our sales team to discuss this option.
